First introduced by the Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1963, the .30 Winchester Magnum, commonly referred to simply as .300 Win Mag, if a belted and bottlenecked magnum rifle cartridge. Used originally in the Winchester Model 70 Rifle, the.300 Win Mag is essentially a redesigned .338 Winchester Magnum. What the firearms company did was move the should forward and lengthened the round slightly, causing the cartridge to have a neck shorter than the diameter of the bullet.

It is often debated which came first, the 300 Winchester Magnum or the 300 Weatherby Magnum; the Weatherby was first 1944 while the Winchester was introduced in 1963 and the .300 Remington Ultra Magnum being introduced in 1999. In recent years, Remington, Winchester and Ruger have produced rifles in this caliber, and most major ammunition manufactures now supply factory loads. It has, however, seen a steady decline in popularity, especially as shooters tend to shift to more of an all-around rifle, such as the 30.06. However, this round has truly killed every animal imaginable on the planet many times over. For that reason alone, it is doubtful that the .300 Win Mag will ever be put out of existence.

Each box contains 100 once fired brass shell casings with a nickel finish. All Headstamps are mixed. This is unprocessed brass sourced from commercial shooting ranges. The casings have been washed and polished, but not resized and may still contain the spent primer. It is recommended that all brass be inspected prior to being reloaded and fired.
