Though the date that the 7mm Weatherby was actually created remains unclear (though it is believed to have been in the 1940s), it began making its appearance during the early 1950’s, around the same time the 7x61 was becoming popular. It predates the 7mm Rem Mag by nearly a decade. It’s creator, Ron Weatherby, ensured nobody would be able to copy his design completely by filing a patent over his design.

This also meant that no other manufacturers would be able to produce rounds, meaning anybody with the 7mm Weatherby rifles would have to buy their rounds from him. Because of Weatherby’s patent, wildcatters continued experimenting with the .375 Holland and Holland parent case. From this wildcatting, the 7mm Mashburn Super Magnum came into existence, which, through the involvement of Remington Arms, would later become the 7mm Rem Mag. With the popularity of the 7mm Rem Mag, and the restrictions of the 7mm Weatherby placed by Weatherby himself, his round saw a drop in popularity, forcing Weatherby to rethink his marketing techniques. In the late 1990s, Weatherby released the Mark V rifle, and also leased rights to produce its ammo to Federal. These two moves sprung the 7mm Weatherby back into popularity, with it being enjoyed by many hunters today.

Each box contains 25 once fired brass shell casings. Headstamps are mixed. This is unprocessed brass sourced from commercial shooting ranges. The casings have been washed and polished, but not resized and may still contain the spent primer. It is recommended that all brass be inspected prior to being reloaded and fired.
